Oklahoma beats Iowa State and SEMO with 197.2
Another strong meet for the Huskers, who came out on top with a 197.2 in their meet against Iowa State (195.175) and Southeast Missouri (189.6).
Oklahoma started on vault with a 49.275, where they counted a bunch of 9.8 range scores with the exception of Sara Stone’s 9.925 for the event title. They were somewhat weak on bars, earning a 49.125, but mostly due to missed handstands and form issues. Brie Olson and Hayden Ward had the top scores, each with a 9.85, tying for first. They improved on beam despite Kayla Nowak’s fall; the rest of the team managed to hit nicely with Megan Ferguson’s 9.9 first place routine the highlight. Floor was their top event, with a slew of 9.875s the lowest to count; Ferguson also won the title here with a 9.95.
Iowa State started on bars with a 48.575. They saw a fall from Henrietta Green, but the rest of the team recovered somewhat well, with Celine Paulus’ 9.825 their highest (Paulus tied for third on this event). They took a 48.85 on beam, seeing a fall from Caitlin Brown but again a good recovery with Paulus again their top performer, earning a 9.85 (fourth place). The team is pretty excellent on floor, where they earned a 49.1 total. Paulus earned a 9.9 for second place. They then took a 48.65 on vault, with - you guessed it - Paulus taking the high spot along with Michelle Browning with their 9.8s (tying them for sixth place).
Southeast Missouri started out needing to count two falls on beam, giving them a 47.025 total. Taylor Westrick had a comparatively superb routine, earning a 9.8 (sixth place). Moving to floor, they did much better, earning a 48.45 and counting mostly 9.5-9.7 scores but no falls; Emma Garrett was the best on this event, earning a 9.825 (seventh place). They earned an even 48 on vault, where they had some rough vaults, but Garrett against was on top with her 9.7 (ninth place). Bars was the team’s weakest event, where they earned a 46.125 after some disastrous routines, including four falls. Megan Fosnow’s 9.65 was the high (eight place).
