you can still do 3 up 3 count with seven it just gives you more options
Yeah, especially if something happens like last year or in 2008 with injuries, you don’t have to put up the same three girls on practically every event. Spread the love. Have some AAers and some event specialists.
obscurereality replied to your post: dancingdingledodies replied to…
exactly… I say go back to teams of 7 with 3 for everything.
I agree. A lot more fair and balanced.
dancingdingledodies replied to your post: dancingdingledodies replied to…
That’s true. I mean some girls deserve to be there, like Porras from Guatemala, but honestly even though I’m Puerto Rican the PRican girl has no business going to the Olympics. They should have some kind of score cut off like you said.
Yeah, if Porras didn’t get to go I would die, because she is brilliant! And...

For me it was when Kelli Hill defended her. haha I love Kelli, and she obviously hated Bela, but got along with Marta.
Oh yeah, very true. Kelli Hill is the “mom”-iest of coaches in the world, lol. She would never lead us astray! Geddert can be a giant dick but I think he’s got a lot of integrity.

They made it 5 so more athletes from more countries got to go, but it still sucks. I mean, a bunch of amazing international athletes aren’t gonna make it anyway so.
Oh, yeah, I guess that makes sense but I’d rather see more top athletes from the US, Russia, China, etc than girls from more varied countries who earn...

Yes more options…. less heartbreak for all involved… I want to go back to 7

yep. this is my only problem with Marta as well. I really do think she has the athletes best interest at heart though. I mean why would so many former athletes love and respect her?
Yeah, it’s true, and when I kind of bashed her before Worlds, I got that email from John Geddert where he was basically like blah blah I...

Why 5? It’s so few. Ahhhh. Are basically my thoughts.
I hate it! Are they trying to make it more challenging??? Stupid. I like big teams with more options. So silly.
wagrobanite replied to your post: wagrobanite replied to…
phew! I do questions some of Marta’s decisions, like not sending any girls to the test event and I think having two camps right before the Olympics was a mistake but yah she’s done good for USA gymnastics
Yes, I don’t like the crazy camps and think they’re there’s got to be a better way than the system of...

I kinda don’t mind that she’s not doing a comeback now. There are so many girls I want on that team (more than any other year I think) that I’m bound to get my heart broken. If Sam was in the mix, I’d legit cry after Trials. I still might cry anyway.
Yeah, I totally get that…I think for me, Sam would be the one I’d want...

MATTIE ON BARS!!!!!!! AND AISHA 9.9!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mo on bars was a legit hero. Best I’ve ever seen her, from what I could see, which was basically the last few bits and then the dismount. Mattie and Aisha were also like WHAT THE WHAT. I was seriously like what is happening right now!? They were both awesome. More of...

This is why I will forever love Sam. I kinda hopes that, when she finishes college gym, she decides to go back to elite.
I do too. I want her in elite NOW. Of all of the 2008 comebacks hers is the one I want the most yet she’s the only one not doing it, lol. Damn you. She’ll finish at UCLA in...

What is going on with Tauny on vault this season. :(
I feel like her vault is just not right for her…she either lands it too low or has to take huge steps! I think it’s a blind landing, which might be the problem. Just do a FTY like everyone else, dummy!

Was she really showing obscenities at them?!
No, haha. I was just joking about what people think she does…I feel like people think Marta is this evil person who tries to destroy the team when really she is just doing her job, which is very difficult and she has to make some tough decisions that not everyone agrees with, but...
I can’t believe I’m sharing this because it’s incredibly awkward but this is the first gym interview I ever did (for Couch Gymnast). I no longer film them because I felt awkward talking while filming and I feel like the athletes don’t know where to look…at me, or into the camera. I am an awkward person in general so in this situation I was actin’ a fool. On...

Yeah, they do. It’s unfortunate. It’s like, Alicia ruptures her Achilles? Blame Marta! The US wins silver instead of gold? Must be Marta’s fault! The US wins gold with only five athletes against the odds, beating even Russia’s winning score from the year before? Marta...
Alabama beats Louisiana State 197.025 to 196.575
Despite slightly underperforming on bars, Alabama was still able to come out on top at Louisiana State, defeating the Tigers after an exciting meet.
Rotation 1. LSU did well on vault, with no real issues. They earned a 49.15 total and Rheagan Courville did best for the team, earning a 9.9 and the third place spot. Bama wasn’t at their best on bars, hitting routines but staying in the 9.8...

Love all three of them but with Aly & Jordyn pro it just makes more promo sense. I would think.

Apparently there was some inflation due to a special “bonus” or something? But WOW. Guess she’s doing the Amanar and has upgraded bars?? I think just yesterday or the day before I said I just had a feeling about her in terms of her making the Olympic team. If she can keep this up, I don’t see how Marta will leave her off.
PS how many of you would rather see Gabby compete...

Explanation for why Stephanie McAllister received only a 9.675 when everyone in the arena was screaming for a 10.0. Spanny, Brigid and I were like “the fuck?” when her score came out, because her routine was awesome. Apparently she didn’t meet the leap requirement so they took her SV down to a 9.8. Why would her routine SUDDENLY not meet the requirement after performing it all...
